Construction Update... Week 17..

Changes for this week.

Exterior:
  1. They have started laying tiles on the roof. This can been seen on the garage roof.
  2. The concrete walkway leading to the front door and the side has been laid.
  3. The cobbled/brick driveway has also been completed.
  4. The fence for the courtyard has been installed.
Interior:
  1. Kitchen counter tops have been laid. The counter tops are made of the material Corian. It kinda looks like stone or granite, but its artificial and smooth. Its also supposed to be scratch and heat resistant.
  2. The electrical sockets and switches have been installed. Most of the electrical outlets have been covered.
  3. The handrails for the stairs have been painted white.

Thats about the changes I observed this week. Now that the kitchen counter tops & floorings are in place, I have a feeling the cabinets and counter tops & floor tiles are all too lite, and maybe I should have gone for a darker color for the counter tops.

Next week, I believe we should have carpet installed. Once thats complete, they probably will start having the QA inspection where they will patched the holes in the wall, and paint scrapped off walls etc. They are aiming at a closing around the 1st week or November. So lets see how that goes.

Construction Update.. Week 15..

Finally the interior of the house is beginning to take shape. Both the interior & exterior has been painted. I don't really like the exterior paint color. It basically looks as if there is no paint, and its just cement. But then again, I didn't get much chance in choosing the exterior color as this is a planned community, and not a custom home.

They have also installed the base cabinets in the house. Most noticeable are the kitchen & bathroom ones.

Then they have started laying the brick for the driveway between the houses. I have also taken some pictures of my neighboring houses.
