Construction Update.. July 28th

It rained a bit last week, and I was wondering if that would affect the house as its all made of wood. But other than puddles of water on the ground, the house looks to be in good condition.

Looking at the outside, it doesn't look like much work was done. But the exterior has been completely walled up and also covered by the white bug & mold resistant cover. They have also placed the tiles on the roof so the truss gets used to the weight.

Like last week, the major updates this week has again been on the inside. The wiring for the electrical has been laid out. There are different colored wires running from the main switch box, but I have not been able to figure out what each of them is for. There are small switch boxes in all the rooms, and the kitchen & bathrooms also have the light fixtures setup.

The base for the water heater has been put up now. This is where the hot water pipes will originate. Once the water heater is installed, the copper pipes will be cut, and connected to the heater. The laundry room has been hooked up with the water, sewer & electrical connections. The circuit box inside the house is located in the laundry room, and you can see all electrical connections coming in there.

Progress update.... July 22nd

Lot more progress in the construction this week. All of the wooden frame of the house seem to be completed. The exterior has been covered with wooden wall. The exterior is now being covered with a bug & mold resistant Styrofoam padding with metal chains (this is the white color seen in the picture).

The biggest change this week has been on the inside. The air duct has been laid and the hot & cold water pipes have been drawn. The plumbing, now just as bare pipes go to all the rooms & kitchen. Its only after seeing the red & blue tubes did I realize that the big black PVC pipes were actually sewage pipes & not for carrying water.

Other changes on the inside include glass panes on the windows & sliding door to the courtyard. The bathrooms in the bedrooms now have the basic bath fixtures. The master bedroom has the shower stall installed, and the guest bedroom has the bathtub put in place.
